Journal Two

Time flies really quick. It is been around 20 days since I posted my first journal. I really have to admit that time does fly super fast since I joined the university. It feels like it was just yesterday when I stepped my feet on the campus’ ground and started to face the next stage of my life. However, next week I am going to have to sit for the first middle term exam in my second semester. It also means that I am already quarter way done until my next semester. So far, I have learnt about so many new things in this writing class, something major and minor in a writing have been taught to me. As we know that in this 21st of century internet has taken over almost big part of humans’ life. Everything nowadays always has something to do with the internet as it is faster and easier to use. Same case as me and the other students have to use a blog as one of the new medias to study and apply our writing skills on the internet. I think it is great idea and useful that we are learning this now for a better one later on the future.

Besides those recount assigments that had been given to us, we were also told to start making an autobiography. I had not done it before so it sounded kind of difficult for me. However, I managed it because the lecturer guided us really well and made it easier by asking us to make sequels weekly. I found writing an autobiography interesting and kind of fun. It is meant to let others know about ourselves and some stories of our life. Writing an autobiography takes a bit of time, and it has to be minimum about 2000 words. Therefore, to make  such a great one, there are a lot of rules that I have to pay attention on, such as the structure of a sentence, grammar, contraction, punctuation marks and making a good paragraph with a chronological order.

They all have been taught to me well in this class. It is really important so that we can make a good passage which the readers can enjoy and understand easily. Although some of the rules are actually quiet easy, I still made some mistakes. Infact, I made a lot of minor mistakes which I really have to work on more for example, I always wrote “ Alot” instead of “A lot”  and “Abit” instead of “ A bit”. I always missed the space there. Not to mention, I sometimes even had some spelling mistakes here and there. They were such a minor ones but could be a bad habit if I did not work on it, so now I am working on it. I got a bit of problem in dividing paragraph as well.  My lecturer said that to make such a good passage, we need to divide the text into few paragraphs so that it will look nice and chronological. There is also this one important thing that I need to watch, it is that one or each paragraph needs to have one main idea, so we are not allowed to mix or talk about a lot of topics and put it in one paragraph. I kept that in mind, so now I have been trying to do my best in dividing my text into few paragraphs with one main idea / topic each.

Those new knowledges and feedbacks I got are really useful for me. It is good to know and learn about new things. Therefore, I will always remember those corrections and try not to repeat or make the same mistakes again eventhough that is kind of impossible because everybody makes mistakes. Hehe! Good thing is that I have already made some improvements since I wrote my first journal. I tried my best to follow the instructions to make a really good writing and I will always do my best in making the next ones. It is now one more week until my middle term exam. Hence, I will work more on everything like, the structure of a sentence, contraction, punctuation marks, also dividing my text into a few paragraphs with a chronological order. I will keep learning until I can make a really good writing with almost no mistakes. Almost is the key word. Haha! Anyhow, I will do my best in the upcoming exam. Wish me luck!
